- Cost. Generally you pay a premium for a laptop compared to a similarly specified Desktop
- Theft. Because of the very nature of laptops, they can be stolen very easily
- Upgrades. Upgrading a laptop can be more expensive because of the costs of parts and often the chips and processor are on a single ‘board’.
- Ergonomics. Quite often, because the size of some laptops, it may be more difficult to use the keyboard and screen. A Desktop will allow you to place the keyboard and monitor at different angles for better and easier use
- Heat. Sometimes when a laptop gets too hot, it may shutdown automatically which can mean that important data might be lost.
- Lifespan. Generally, laptops are not as resilient as a Desktop.
- Battery life. Obviously having a laptop powered by an internal battery will give flexibility and mobility, but it can also be an issue especially when you are away from a power source and the battery might need recharging.
